"I believe that every person is capable of musical expression and enjoyment. As a teacher, my job is to lead my students to the door of musical understanding through clear expectations, well planned lessons, and opportunities for musical growth. It is the student’s job to walk through the door of musical understanding. I ask the student to make the commitment to meet my expectations, and to participate fully in each lesson by being prepared and inquisitive. I ask each parent to encourage their child’s efforts and to provide opportunity for musical success by remaining informed of, and involved in, their child’s musical progress. Through lots of hard work and lots of encouragement on the part of all three parties- parent, student and teacher- the study of piano will become a lifelong joy."
